A four-month-old baby girl went viral after being mistaken for a reborn doll while out shopping with her mother at a mall in Brazil.
According to Esther ’s mother, Janicléia Diniz , the little girl is often mistaken for a doll when they go out in public. In a recent video that went viral, Janicléia filmed a trip to the mall with her baby.
In the clip, which has already garnered over 300,000 views on TikTok, Esther is seen in a stroller alongside her parents, Janicléia and her husband Wellington , at a mall in Caruaru, Pernambuco.
“I thought it was a doll, I swear to God! You know those dolls — the ‘reborn babies’? I really thought it was one. She’s such a sweet little thing,” said one of the women who encountered Esther during the outing.
“Look! It’s a doll, mom! ‘I’m a doll — you can make money with me, see?’ Girl, bless your heart! I’ve never seen anything like this up close! Only in pictures, but never in person,” said another woman at the mall.
“When I saw the video had gone viral, I was shocked. I got the idea to make a video like this the first time we went to Caruaru,” Esther’s mother told g1 .
“Some people adopt reborn dolls and treat them like real babies. I think that’s why people make the comparison,” Janicléia explained.
