Often, the Victoria Day long weekend marks the beginning of summer for numerous Ontarians who head to their trailers and cottages to kick off the season.
As mentioned, the weather during the long weekend known as 'May Two-Four' typically tends to be disappointing, and this weekend's forecast follows suit.
As we head into the weekend, Friday looks promising according to Global News Chief Meteorologist Anthony Farnell; however, the coming days pose some challenges.
"Friday is set to be one of the warmest days of this season until now, however, sadly, these pleasant conditions are scheduled to wrap up right as the May long weekend approaches," he clarified.
A region of low pressure may cause a chance of thunderstorms over night on Friday within the GTA, while heavier rainfall is expected to develop mainly across eastern Ontario during late Saturday; however, showers could occur in other areas as well.

Farnell indicated that conditions will get better by Sunday following a wet Saturday, though it will remain chilly enough for sweaters on Sunday.
“As the low pressure moves into Quebec on Sunday, linger showers will taper off by afternoon for the eastern part of the province with increasing sunshine elsewhere,” the meteorologist said.
Colder-than-usual temperatures will dominate on Sunday due to strong northwest breezes. The highlight of the weekend may well be Victoria Day on Monday, offering partly sunny skies, reduced wind, and somewhat milder conditions.
He mentioned that temperatures will stay chilly for much of the coming week too.
